School

Education is one of the most important components to success in Haiti, unfortunately there is no public school system and most children do not have any opportunity for even a basic education. A 2010 Unicef study states that 50% of youth (15-24) attend primary school. This number plunges to 20% when children reach high school age.

YJCF operates a primary school across the street from the Children's Home.  This school provides a free 1st thru 7th grade education to over 75 children. The children receive an excellent education including math, reading (English, French, Creole) and grammar.

Secondary school in Haiti is equivalent to a US high school. YJCF does not currently provide secondary education, however, because of many generous donors, we have successfully placed every child of age in to a secondary school
